It started in 1825 with two brothers, Cyrus and James Clark, and the Brown Petersburg, a sheepskin slipper made by hand in the picturesque English village of Street in Somerset.

Now the world number one in ‘Everyday Footwear’, we design and we manufacture. We also retail and wholesale in all four corners of the globe, currently selling more than 50 million pairs of shoes every year. And we’re growing - in North America, in Europe, China and now in India.

In a history spanning almost 200 years, Clarks has earned a reputation for quality footwear through an on-going commitment to design, exceptional comfort, premium quality and expert service.

With more than 1,000 shops and around 13,000 employees in all four corners of the globe, our headquarters remain based in the West of England where our remarkable story began, as passionate about footwear as ever, still innovating, still creating fashion that looks as good as it feels.
