TPDDL distributes electricity in North & North West parts of Delhi and serves a populace of 6 million. The company started operations on July 1, 2002 post the unbundling of the erstwhile Delhi Vidyut Board (DVB). With a registered consumer base of 1.40 million and a peak load of around 1704 MW, the company’s operations span across an area of 510 sqkms.
TPDDL has added solar generation as a part of sustainable initiative since 2008. With fifteen (15) Solar Plants installed at its license area the total capacity till FY 2014-15 is 1.65 MW.
TPDDL is also a member of a Global Intelligent Utility Network Coalition (GIUNC) which is working towards accelerating the development of common standards, technology solutions and processes for intelligent networks. TPDDL is the first Indian utility to join the IUN Coalition which also includes utilities from North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific regions.
