In Motomachi there is tradition of furniture craftsman who repaired and made western style furniture for the foreign residents of Yokohama district. DANIEL's classic furniture infuses Yokohama's open and stylish spirit with the best features of Victorian, Jacobean, Rococo, Colonial, and other styles from around the world to create furniture that projects a truly unique character. DANIEL uses the finest materials, 200-year- old Kabazakura (a kind of wild cherry) wood from Hokkaido. Skilled craftsman take time, and skill to plane, curve, curve and polish there fine wood. The beauty of furniture made in this way increases with the years and is an investment that will hold its value for centuries.
