Der Fachverband des Maschinen- und Werkzeug-Groß­handels e.V. (FDM) wurde 1910 in Berlin gegründet und versteht sich als unabhängige Interessenvertre­tung der Branche.

Im FDM sind Maschinen- und Werkzeughandelsfirmen aus den Bereichen Metall- und Holzbearbeitung sowie Kunststoffverarbeitung, Verpackung, Textil- und Druckmaschinen organisiert.

In den 80er Jahren hat sich innerhalb des FDM die Fachgruppe Gebrauchtmaschinen konstituiert., Diese Grupppe ist seitdem stetig gewachsen und vereinigt heute Handelshäuser aus ganz Europa.

The FDM - the Trade Association for Machine Tools + Tooling - was founded in Berlin, Germany in 1910 and sees itself as an independent body representing the interests ot its members.

Today, the FDM membership comprises machine tool and tool merchants in the fields of metal, plastic, wood working, textile, printing and packaging.

Apart from these groups there is another one dealing with used machinery and technologies in all fields mentioned above. This group, which formed itself within the FDM in the 1980es, has grown considerably since then and now comprises members all over Europe.
