Georgina Pay School of Dance

The school opened its doors to the wider community in 2005 with Georgie as the only teacher. The school has been growing steadily since and now has approximately 140 students attending from one class to ten classes each week. The school environment is friendly and supportive, catering to both dance as a hobby and dance with a view to a career.

The school is very welcoming to all and believes that each child is of equal importance regardless of ability. Ballet can be learned purely for the pleasure and joy of it. Equally if a student has potential and desire, they can be taken down a more vocational route.

The school currently has, and has had, several students go on to train vocationally full-time at the Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet, English National Ballet School, Elmhurst School for Dance, Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance, Tring Park School for the performing Arts, Laine Theatre Arts, Urdang Academy and the Royal Academy of Dance. Some of these students are now having careers as both professional dancers and teachers, whilst others are still training at these schools.
GPSD has children as associates at the Royal Ballet School, Central School of Ballet and Tring Park Classical Ballet Academy.

GPSD is dedicated to high standards of teaching resulting in high standards of learning. The staff endeavour to make each child’s learning experience a happy one.

The school follows the syllabus of the Royal Academy of Dance and students are able to take examinations in both the graded and vocational levels, if they wish to do so, up to and
including Advanced 2.
