People make places. Here at Barrhead Travel we know that our people are the foundation of our business success. Barrhead Travel began in 1975 in the Glasgow suburb of Barrhead, Scotland; our company has come a long way in 40 years.

Barrhead Travel is Scotland’s largest independent travel group, and one of the largest in the UK.

We now employ 900+ people across 61 locations, with more planned for the near future. A major player in the UK travel market, we are also recognised by independent researchers as one of the best-run and most financially-strong travel businesses in Britain, thanks to our ability to identify new routes to market and introduce exciting products that capture the public’s imagination.

In December 2015, we were delighted to have opened our first branded store in England. Located in the intu Eldon Square Shopping centre in Newcastle, this flagship store marks the start of our ambitious plans to grow our UK network.

We’ve never been afraid of embracing change and grasping the opportunities that come our way. Thanks to careful planning and proactive strategies, Barrhead Travel carries over 300,000 passengers a year.
