HEMA is an international retail organisation with stores in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, France, Germany and Spain. Customer-friendly and with a unique profile, HEMA distinguishes itself from other retailers by selling its own brand. In addition, HEMA develops its own assortment and likes to surprise customers with timely offers of products for daily use. HEMA products are typically convenient, practical and attractive and of good quality.

HEMA might be new to the UK but the company has been around since 1926. It started out as an Amsterdam store where products were priced according to a simple tiered pricing structure: you could purchase excellent products for 10, 25 or 50 cents. This made HEMA the first variety store for the average person. Soon our nice, well-made and affordable items could be found in every household. Today one in five Dutch women use HEMA make-up, which is of equal quality of many high-end labels. Our stationery is as popular with hip schoolgirls as it is with hard working young professionals.

HEMA first crossed the border in 1984, having already opened over 500 shops in The Netherlands. It was not long before we captured the hearts of many nationalities across Europe. Starting from 2014, we hope to conquer British hearts with our first UK HEMA store at Victoria Station.
