We are 'the church in the community, for the community' situated in Westbourne, Bournemouth. We are encouraged that West Cliff Baptist Church is a growing church and would love to welcome you amongst us.

Here is a bit of our history.
In 1879 the first Baptist Chapel was opened in Seamore Road. The Pastor was Robert Coleman and there is a memorial tablet and stained glass window in his memory in the current church.
In 1890 the foundation stone of the present building was laid at the corner of Grosvenor Road/Poole road.
1891 the present building was opened with seating for 560 worshippers.
A school met in the current church hall with separate entrances for boys and girls (now blocked off)
1893 the pipe organ was installed as the "american" organ which had been transferred from Seamore road was inadequate.
The church is a grade 2 listed building which means it is certified as a good example of church architecture of the period.. Therefore the appearance of the church cannot be altered without permission from English Heritige.
In 1979 to celebrate the buildings centenary, the platform at the front of the church was extended and a new, larger baptistry was installed.
As a baptist church, we baptise believers by full immersion.
