MAYA MAYA originates from Australia from the aborigine Nyugar “Every temporary shelter built by a traveller.” It is present in the ancient scripts of all continents.

The brand MAYA MAYA was firstly registered in 2009. Since 2015 the operations are managed by Swiss Outdoor Lifestyle AG. Company's headquarters are located in Zizers, Switzerland. Currently MAYA MAYA has four stores located in central Europe (Switzerland, South Tyrol, Slovenia and Croatia). Furthermore, in 2018 four new MAYA MAYA flagship stores will open around Europe:
- Prague (Czech Republic)
- Zagreb (Croatia)
- Valimaa (Finland)
- Helsinki (Valimaa)

We target primarily the following regions with the aim to open 5 more locations in 2019:
Scandinavia, US, Canada, Australia, EU.
Target is to have 1 - 2 stores per country: a High street store and an Outlet store.
